This free program, developed in partnership with SYTA (Student & Youth Travel Association) , Your Big Year and Peace Through Tourism, is designed to help students make the most of their travel experience—before, during, and after the trip.
What’s Included?
When educators register their class for a trip with Ellison Tours, they gain access to a suite of resources at no additional cost:
- The Global Citizen Challenge – A four-day virtual event (February 26–March 1) that helps students approach their journey with intention and purpose
- Classroom Study Guide – Learning activities focused on global citizenship and fostering peace between communities and cultures
- Peace-Building Activities – Downloadable resources designed specifically for teens, featuring practical steps students can take while travelling or in their own communities
- Peace Ambassador Certificate – Recognition for students who demonstrate meaningful engagement during their travels
Travelling with CARE
At the heart of the program is the “Travelling with CARE” framework, which encourages students to embrace four key principles:
- Curiosity – Approach new places with open minds and questions, not assumptions
- Acceptance – Embrace differences as opportunities for empathy and understanding
- Respect – Honour local environments, communities, and cultures
- Engagement – Connect with people meaningfully and share experiences
